The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), 𝐌𝐫. 𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐢 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚, departs Freetown this evening on his first official international assignment since assuming office.He will be accompanied by the Acting General Secretary, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐰𝐨𝐡, during the 𝐂𝐀𝐅 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 24 August 2025, in Kampala, Uganda. The Acting General Secretary will return to Sierra Leone immediately after the Roundtable, while President Kamara continues with his international engagements.

The Roundtable will focus on the implementation and application of the new CAF IMPACT regulations, a flagship initiative designed to strengthen governance, infrastructure, and the use of development funds provided by CAF to its Member Associations.

While in Uganda, President Kamara will also watch the Semi-Final and 3rd Place matches of the ongoing 𝐓𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 (𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒) before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya.

In Nairobi, he will join CAF President 𝐃𝐫. 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐞 and other Presidents of CAF Member Associations for an in-person strategic meeting on Saturday, August 30, 2025. The high-level meeting will take place on the same day as the final of the CHAN Tournament.

The Nairobi discussions will address several critical issues central to the growth of African football, including:

  • 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟓𝟒 𝐂𝐀𝐅 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐱 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.

    President Kamara’s participation in both the Kampala Roundtable and the Nairobi meeting marks a significant milestone for Sierra Leone’s football leadership, signaling the country’s active involvement in shaping the future of African football under the new CAF development agenda.

    For Sierra Leone, this mission provides a valuable platform to strengthen international football relations, explore opportunities for infrastructure support, and ensure that the country benefits fully from CAF’s new development pathways under the CAF IMPACT Programme.
