China Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Ambassador Wang Qing together with the Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Ramatulia Wurrie has on Tuesday 5th December witnessed the 2023 Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship Award Ceremony, Chinese Embassy, and Sierra Leone.
Ambassador Wang Qing disclosed the cooperation between China and Sierra Leone in the area of education since the establishment of diplomatic ties for the past 52 years fruitful.
Ambassador Wang Qing made the said disclosure when he was congratulating lucky awardees of the scholarship.
He further stated that the said cooperation has energetically promotes China –Sierra Leone Friendship that is sandwich with mutual understanding between parties.
China stands willing to merge with the development plans of the government of Sierra Leone by providing assistance to nurture the needed skills that will bring to realization the major goal of the government Big Five Game Changers, ‘Feed Salone’ in president Bio’s second term in office, he said.
Minister Wurrie in her statement respected the long standing supports to the development of education and human resource in the country.
She further underscored her willingness to promote more sound cooperation with China to seal the traditional friendship amongst the two countries.
In snap interviews with few of the award winning students at the end of the official ceremony, stated their thankfulness to the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone and assuring the Embassy of studying very hard to be graduated as the best Sierra Leonean students the scholarship has produce since its inception in Sierra Leone.
They further pledged to be ambassadors that will propagate the Sino-Sierra Leone Friendship cooperation and cultural exchanges.
