As the All Peoples Congress (APC) gears up for its pivotal 2026 National Delegates Conference (NDC), Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah — widely known as Hon. Chericoco, has emerged as the leading contender for the party’s Presidential candidate (flag bearer) position. With a political career defined by loyalty, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the APC, Hon. Chericoco is seen by many as the true torchbearer of the party’s legacy and the figure most capable of restoring its strength and unity.

Hon. Chericoco’s political journey is closely intertwined with APC’s history. Often described as “born APC,” he carries a legacy that dates back generations, reinforcing his deep-rooted connection to the party. Unlike others in the political sphere who have shifted allegiances, Hon. Chericoco has remained steadfast in his loyalty to the APC, never once affiliating with any other political entity, an unmatched dedication that distinguishes him in the flag bearer race, particularly at a time when the party seeks stability, authenticity, and direction.

Throughout his career, Hon. Chericoco has consistently championed the APC’s mission — advocating for social justice, national development, and grassroots empowerment. Whether in Parliament or at public forums, his voice has echoed the values that have long defined the APC. For many party loyalists, his commitment goes beyond rhetoric. It is reflected in years of service, sacrifice, and unrelenting advocacy for the party and its supporters.

His emergence as the frontrunner in the lead-up to the convention is seen not only as a political shift but also as a moment of long-overdue recognition. To many within the APC, this is “payback time” for Hon. Chericoco — a moment to reward his consistency and honour his role in preserving the party’s identity. Supporters argue that his candidacy offers the best chance to unite the party and regain public confidence.

“Hon. Chericoco represents everything the APC stands for — discipline, service, and unwavering belief in our people,” said a senior APC official. “His leadership is not only about the future but also about preserving the foundation upon which this party was built.”

Hon. Chericoco’s appeal lies in his vision of an inclusive, people-centred APC. He has often emphasized the need to bridge internal divides and welcome all voices to the table. His approach is not confrontational, but collaborative — a leadership style that resonates with a base eager for unity and renewal.

In his recent engagements across the country, Hon. Chericoco has called for solidarity within the APC. He encourages grassroots mobilization, greater youth involvement, and an emphasis on integrity in governance. His speeches reflect both urgency and hope, laying out a path for the APC not only to win elections but to meaningfully improve the lives of Sierra Leoneans.

What further sets Hon. Chericoco apart is his ability to inspire trust. He speaks not just as a politician, but as someone whose political identity is inseparable from the party itself. His record, demeanour, and history have earned him respect not only among APC stalwarts but also from many across the political divide.

With the 2026 National Convention approaching, the stakes are high. The APC is at a crossroads, seeking to rebound from previous electoral setbacks and re-establish itself as a dominant political force. In this moment of decision, Hon. Chericoco stands out as the candidate who embodies both the party’s heritage and its aspirations for the future.

His campaign is not solely about winning the flag bearer position, it is a movement aimed at rebuilding the APC from within, reinvigorating its structures, and reconnecting with the people it seeks to serve.

In Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah, the APC sees more than a flag bearer. It sees a custodian of its past and a visionary for its future.

As delegates prepare to cast their votes, Hon. Chericoco remains the candidate to watch; and for many, the leader capable of leading the APC back to the State House.
