The former Might Blackpool captain, Kamboi Eagles player and Leone Stars Striker, Ron Grandi Williams has retired from playing professional football.
He made this decision official to his fans and the football loving World on 5th February 2024.
Taking to his social media handle, Ran Grandi William informed his fans and the football World that making the decision to step back from his beloved sport after many successful years at the highest level has been incredibly difficult.
He admitted that the demands of managing his academic, professional, and football commitment had become increasingly complex, adding that balancing a full-time job, academics, and active football had proven to be a significant challenge for him.
He continued that as a result he had come to the realization that he need to dedicate his time and focus on his academic and professional success, considering that there is life beyond football.
‘As a result, I have come to the realization that I need to dedicate my time and focus on my academic and professional success, considering that there is life beyond football,’ he noted.
He furthered that he have had an extraordinary football journey, proudly representing SLIFA (div 1), Man City SL (Div 2), Kamboi Eagles FC, and Mighty Blackpool FC in the Premier League and also said that having played three time for the Sierra Leone National Team was a special moment in his life.
He appreciated God, his family, teammates, coaches, club officials, stakeholders and everyone who had been a part of his journey, and noted that their love, guidance, support, and friendship had been invaluable towards shaping him both as a player and an individual.
He also appreciated his fans, loved ones who had supported him throughout his football journey. He said their unwavering encouragement and belief in his abilities had meant the world to him.
He noted that although this decision marks the end of his active involvement in football, it does not diminish his love for the sport, adding that football would always hold a special place in his heart, and he would continue to support and closely follow the game.
