The police in The Gambia have arrested a Sierra Leonean in connection with the alleged murder of a British woman who was killed few days ago. According to the police, the suspect confessed killing the British woman and material evidence such as a pistol, sledge hammer, spade, money, and keys among others were recovered from him.
Further police updates on the Fajara robbery informed the media about the last week incident. Police say two suspects; a Gambian and a Sierra Leonean, have so far been arrested and charged with several counts.
According to the police, a substantial number of crimes in the country as per their records are committed by foreign nationals. “We should not be saying this but most of these crimes are committed by foreign nationals in the country. The idea of such crimes is imported too,” a senior police officer said.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects intended to forcibly break into the complainant’s residence to rob him, believing he had money. During their escape, they fired shots and fled in a BMW. The vehicle, pistol, and ammunition are all recovered. Both suspects are under police custody as investigations continue.
The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police for prompt action.
Meanwhile, the police have on Saturday February 17 arrested a male suspect, aged between 20 and 30 years, in connection with the murder of Shaikna Chinedu, whose body was discovered in an incomplete compound under mysterious circumstances after being reported missing.
The suspect is currently cooperating with the police in the ongoing investigation. Shaikna Chinedu, now deceased, was reported missing at Tujereng Police Station on February 15, 2024. Shaikna’s corpse was found on February 16, 2024 in an incomplete compound under mysterious circumstances.
