World Malaria Day is observed at every yearโs April 25th. To promote the awareness of malaria among local people, the 26th batch of China Medical Team held a free clinic with the theme of ” Providing Medical Care, Science Popularization and Culture” in Freetown on April 23rd. Medical experts from China and Sierra Leone presented vivid and detailed science popularization lectures to the local people, and gave detailed explanations on the prevention and treatment of malaria and other common infectious diseases.
Short films introducing China’s long history, magnificent mountains and rivers, and traditional culture were also played on the scene.

Teachers and students of the Confucius Institute at the University of Sierra Leone brought wonderful martial arts performances.

During the free clinic session, the medical team provided free consultations on internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, and otolaryngology to more than 200 people, and distributed free antimalarial drugs and gifts on the spot. Participants thanked China medical experts and wished that the friendship between China and Sierra Leone would last forever.
