29-year-old Man Remanded for Larceny

On Tuesday, 12th November 2024, Abdul Rahman Sannoh, a 29-year-old man, made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.1. The accused was arraigned for the offense of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the charge sheet, Sannoh is accused of stealing twenty (20) rubber dublix trade paints, valued at one thousand seven hundred and ten Leones (Le1,710) each, totaling thirty-four thousand two hundred Leones (Le34,200). The stolen items, belonging to Kadija Koroma, were taken between 1st September and 31st October 2024 at No. 2 Sherone Street, Wilberforce Village.

When the charge was read and explained in court, the accused pleaded guilty. Inspector Daboh, prosecuting the case, requested a short adjournment to present witnesses in the matter.

The accused, who was not legally represented, was remanded in custody. Magistrate Kekura denied bail and ordered that Sannoh be held at the male correctional facility in Freetown until further proceedings.

The case has been adjourned to Monday, 18th November 2024, for continued proceedings.
