Today marks the successful conclusion of the five-day workshop dedicated to developing a comprehensive National Action Plan for Health Security Hosted by the National Public Health Agency in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and various partners, the event took place at the City Council Conference Hall in Freetown.

This workshop brought together health experts, stakeholders, and representatives from governmental and non-governmental organisations to discuss and formulate strategies to enhance our nation’s health security. Participants engaged in vibrant discussions and collaborative activities aimed at identifying current challenges, setting priorities, and proposing actionable solutions to strengthen public health systems in Sierra Leone.

Key highlights of the workshop included:

  • Expert Presentations: Leading health professionals shared insights on global best practices in health security.
  • Group Discussions: Participants broke into groups to brainstorm and refine strategic objectives for the National Action Plan.
  • Collaborative Frameworks: Development of partnership models to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders in implementing health policies.

The successful completion of this workshop marks a significant step towards improving the resilience and preparedness of our health systems against potential public health threats. The consolidated insights and strategies developed during this event will be crucial in guiding the formulation of our National Action Plan.
