Freetown, Sierra Leone, October 30, 2024 – It has come to our attention that an audio recording recently made by Mrs. Joe Koroma contains treacherous, insulting, and baseless accusations against Dr. Richard Konteh and other peace-loving leaders within the All People’s Congress (APC). These allegations are completely false and reflect a concerted effort by Mrs. Joe Koroma to spread misinformation and tarnish the reputations of individuals who have dedicated their lives to unity, peace, and progress in Sierra Leone.

Mrs. Joe Koroma’s statements are not only an attack on Dr. Richard Konteh but also an affront to all APC supporters and leaders who work tirelessly for the advancement of our great party and nation. Her comments seek to sow seeds of discord and distrust among our supporters, undermining efforts to foster dialogue, reconciliation, and national unity.

Dr. Richard Konteh has built his career on principles of integrity, dedication, and selfless service to the people of Sierra Leone. As a leader, he has continuously demonstrated his unwavering commitment to bridging divides, fostering understanding, and building a prosperous future for all Sierra Leoneans.

In his capacity as a public servant and advocate for peace, Dr. Konteh has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at empowering communities, uplifting the disadvantaged and promoting unity among Sierra Leoneans regardless of their political or regional affiliations. His work has been instrumental in advancing peace, national unity, and democratic governance in Sierra Leone.

Dr. Konteh’s vision for Sierra Leone is rooted in hope, unity, and the belief that every citizen deserves an opportunity to thrive in a peaceful and inclusive society. He remains steadfast in his dedication to creating a nation where justice prevails, where every voice is heard, and where every citizen is respected.

Rejecting Misinformation and Defending Truth

The recent defamatory statements made by Mrs. Joe Koroma represent a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and discredit leaders who work diligently to serve Sierra Leone. We categorically reject these falsehoods and urge the public to remain vigilant against such malicious efforts to divide and distract from the important work being done to build a stronger and more united nation.

We call on all Sierra Leoneans to focus on what truly matters—the continued progress, peace, and prosperity of our beloved country. Dr. Richard Konteh and all unity-loving leaders within the APC will not be deterred by baseless accusations. Instead, we are more determined than ever to continue our efforts to uplift communities, promote reconciliation, and build a future of shared hope and opportunity.

A Call for Unity and Respect

As we move forward, we encourage all citizens and APC supporters to reject false information and divisive rhetoric. Let us come together, not in anger and suspicion, but in unity and mutual respect. The work of nation-building is not the task of a few, but the responsibility of all.

We remain committed to our vision of a Sierra Leone where every citizen’s dignity is upheld, where truth prevails over falsehood, and where unity remains our greatest strength.
