Sierra Leone has lost one of its distinguished scholars and spiritual leaders. Rev. Canon Dr. Modupe Taylor-Pearce, Canon Emeritus of the Anglican Cathedral of St. George, has passed away.
A revered figure in both the academic and religious spheres, Dr. Taylor-Pearce served with distinction as a teacher, principal, and clergyman, earning national and international respect. He once held the position of Pro Chancellor of Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. Among his many students was former President Ernest Bai Koroma, during his tenure as a teacher at the Government Secondary School in Magburaka, where he also served as principal.
His passing is deeply felt by many, but his legacy remains etched in the lives he touched and the institutions he served. As his son poignantly wrote on facebook“Rest in peace, Daddy. Your race was well run. Your legacy is secure. Your place in heaven assured. I miss you already.”
May he rest in perfect peace.
