Dear Sir,

APC Naming a Running!

The dust will finally settle on Monday 13 March 2023 as the APC running mate will be finally revealed! Lots of speculations, sentimentalisms have been expressed to who is fit to run alongside Dr. Samura Kamara.

Qcell Qcell Qcell

Mohamed Omordu Kamara aka Jagaban, Hon Cherenor Ramadan Bah aka Chericoco, Madina Rahman, Alhaji Sam Sumana and Diana Konomanyi names have been making rounds on the airwaves as possible running mate. All of them are competent but the needed scrutiny must be done in their relevance to match the race.

Appointment is believed to come from God and every time is set by God’s authority. Monday 13 March 2023 will go down in history as a day of bitterness, joy and reconciliation for the political hopefuls. Reconciliation is expected at the end of the appointment of a running mate.

The appointment of a running mate is the official announcement of the political battle of supremacy between the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party SLPP and the opposition APC. Politics is not a do or die activity. It is supposedly a game of social interactions to win the hearts of people with convincing promises to fix and manage the economy and improvement of their social rights.

Those sitting on the fence need to be influenced to accept your political ideology to engorge votes for the presidency of our beloved Sierra Leone. Of course, sentimental voters cannot be persuaded easily as they are glued to the apron string of their political party regardless of the revealed socioeconomic deficit of the state.

The political temperature this time around is not conducive for lukewarm politicians. The appointment of a running mate should embrace a very proactive politician, seasoned with the experience to address the sensitive and positive issues that will promote the development aspirations of the party and the nation at large. No political sentiment should be attached to the naming of the running mate.

The aspiring candidates’ competences must be thoroughly examined for the position. The end of the exercise should follow a reconciliation meeting to resolve losing candidates with the party, stimulate them to give their unflinching support to the party and the presidential candidate.

Political victory is ensured when the political body is one. The appointment of a running mate should not bear the fruit of dissension.

A subtle means must be established to manage grievances, setting the stage to march forward and receive the presidential crown.

Dr. Samura Kamara, the time is here for you to do your political marketing not only to the APC but to the SLPP and the nation at large.

You saw in your welcome to Freetown the masses that came out and gave you a heroic welcome. Such welcome is an eye opener that much is expected of you to liberate the nation from the shackles of economic depression and human rights violations.

By estimation, no second round is expected in the poll. All depend on your marketing ability and willingness to reach out to more people.

Political obstruction is bound to be experienced but your management strategy counts a lot to deal with any difficult situation, be it inter or at intra party level.

Sir, it is my fervent hope that the outcome of naming the running mate will go well without any incident.  The best of luck!

Yours faithfully,

Maada Kapindi M’boma.
