Ramatu Bangura a business woman and complainant has last Thursday 25th August 2022 told Hon. Justice Emmanuella Harding of Sexual Modern High Court of Sierra Leone that she was nervous when she saw the accused person sexual rubbing he’s penis on her two year old daughter.
Testifying in Court, the compliant mother of the victim mark as PW1 told the Court that she recognized the accused Alpha Jalloh and recalled on the 15th February 2022. She said that she know the accused person as they all lived in the same address at Goodrich street in Freetown. Madam Bangura also told the Court that she know the victim as her daughter.
PW1 told the court that on that faithful day in the morning hours she washed her two years eleven month Old child and ask her to go and sleep, adding that her daughter is stubborn and later live the room and came to the parlour immediately the accused sow her and took her to another parlour.
PW1 Ramatu stated that she immediately went to the parlour and meet the accused has sexually penetrated her daughter after removing her cloths and he lied on top of her rubbing his penis on her virginal.
She said upon arrival she shout and cry for help wherein the accused person fight and bite her after she shout and residents told her to go and call a police officer and later the accused was arrested, she told the Court.
PW1 stated that the accused was at the holding center at the Eastern Police Station. According to her, she told the police that her two years old child had been sexual penetrated by the accused person.
She narrated her statement at the police station the offices give her medical pepper to go at the Rainbow Center, adding that first she was unable to meet the doctor at the first day but later went there on the second day.
Also testifying in Court PW2 Inspector Alie A. Kargbo who told the Court that he’s a police attached to the Eastern Police Station. He recalled that on 15th February 2022, while on duty a case of sexual penetration was brought in the station of a two year’s old child by her mother.
He said upon arrival the victim brought in was unable to respond because she was a child at age two. PW two Kargbo narrated that he issues out a medical report to the mother to take the victim to the Rainbow Center.
“The medical report was issues to the Inspector by the state procurator Olu Robin Mezi Jr. in Court which was Mark as exhibit Z1-4.” PW2 said. Pw2 further that after the victim and mother Left for the Rainbow center, he and his colleague 1749 Mansaray conducted interview statement from the accused which we caution and question him.
The Accused person, Alpha Jalloh is standing a trail of sexual penetration contrary to section 19 of the sexual offense Act 2012, Act No. 12 of 201, as Repealed and Replaced by section 4(a) (1) of sexual offense ( Amendment Act 2019, Act No. 8 of 2019.
According to the offend, accused Alpha Jalloh on the 15th February 2022, at Freetown in the western Area of Sierra Leone engaged in an act of sexual penetration of a child.
State prosecutor was Olu Robin Mezi Jr. and Lawyer Kumba Kanu Legal Aid Board defence lawyer for the accused. Justice Emmanuel Heading Adjoined the matter to day Friday 26 August 2022.
