As part of her normal humanitarian gestures to vulnerable communities, Sierra Leone Goodwill Ambassador based in Los Angeles CA in the United States of America, Mrs. Isatu Timbo Nwokedi, Thursday 14th May 2020 donated one hundred and fifty bags of rice, sixty-four veronica buckets, and four cartoons of soaps to less opportune communities in Rokulan, Sanda Tin-Daren, Karena district north of Sierra Leone.
Similar offers were also Friday 15th May 2020 extended to needy homes in Makeni Bombali district, all geared towards the sustenance of vulnerable people during restrictions and intermittent lockdowns caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Apart from the assorted food items and COVID19 preventive kits, humanitarian aids to her people, Mrs. Isatu Timbo Nwokedi, always provide annual Ramadan food support to the tune of one hundred bags of rice to Muslims in Sandar Tin Daren and Rokulan in the Karena district as part of her goodwill gestures to her home villages and town communities. These according to the philanthropist, were meant for all Muslims irrespective of regional backgrounds.
Whereas the preventive kits from COVID19 pandemic Madam Mrs. Isatu Timbo Nwokedi, said are geared towards the protections of the people from the dangerous pandemic.
Amb. Mrs. Isatu Timbo Nwokedi who is the founder and Executive Director of GIDA’s Home Health Services in the US, said she and her family had always provided over one hundred bags of rice to Muslims and none Muslims in Makeni and Sandar during the months of Ramadan every year.
She added that the food and COVID19 preventive kits are meant to help sustain them especially during restrictions and lockdowns in Sierra Leone.
Livelihood sustenance is troubling low income earners during the COVID19 pandemic in Sierra Leone the more reasons the philanthropist Amb. Mrs. Isatu Timbo Nwokedi went to rescue of the needy with such demanding interventions in that parts of the country.
Beneficiaries after the other thanked Amb. Mrs. Isatu Timbo Nwokedi for her support to them particular in this critical time of needed assistances.
It could be recalled that Amb. Mrs. Isatu Timbo Nwokedi had over the years shipped home forty feet containers loaded with medical supplies and equipment worth millions of United States Dollars to Connaught, Ola During Children’s Hospitals, Princess Christian Maternity Hospital, Matru Jong, Pujehun and so many highly health facilities needed communities in Sierra Leone.
She said she was inspired by what she experienced during recent visit to the country, adding that she also offered the same help to highly health facilities deeded communities, especially during the deadly Ebola virus disease outbreak in 2014.
“I don’t expect reward for what I do…am doing what I am doing now only to help the people and I expect reward only from God Almighty,” she said.
