The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has in a press release issued Wednesday 5 July 2023, informed the public that, the Authority is working on improving electricity supply to the extreme East, West of Freetown and beyond.
The release noted that the Authority has an ongoing instillation to complement and strengthen the 33KV Distribution Network Upgrade project that is aimed at improving electricity supply to Freetown and afar.
It added that during the installations, communities like Wilberforce, Regent, Goderich to Sussex, Roportee, and Wellington unto Waterloo in the Western Rural District would be experiencing power outages for protection and safety reasons, but they however reassured that after the completion of the upgrade, power supplies to those above-mentioned communities would improve tremendously in electricity supply.
“It’s expected that after the completion of the upgrade project electricity supply to the above-mentioned areas would improve tremendously,” the EDSA press release informed.
The empathized their commitment to their valued customers and they apologized for any inconveniences the current situation might have caused and furthered assured the affected residents that work would be completed as indicated above. (10a.m-5a.m).
“Therefore, in a bid to maintain customers satisfaction, the Authority is sorry for the inconveniences the situation may cause to its valued customers and further assures the affected residents that work would be completed as indicated above (10a.m–5a.m),” the EDSA press release stated.
