Prosecution witness No2, Paul Solomon M. Bockarie, during cross examination by defence counsel Lawyer Ibrahim Sorie, yesterday at High Court N01 presided by Justice Adrian Fisher, confirmed to the court that apart from 2016, the fourth accused (Dr Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara) was no longer in office when all payments made in connection with the renovation of the Sierra Leone United Nations Permanent Mission Chancery Building in New York.
According to the charge, Dr Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara and five co-defendants are in the matter of the alleged misappropriation of funds allocated to the renovation of Sierra Leone’s United Nations Permanent Mission Chancery Building in New York.
Earlier Bockarie told the court that since 2012 he had entered as a civil engineer and had worked in several institutions in the country and beyond.
He told the court that based on his assessment conducted, 74% of the work had been done on the UN Permanent Mission Chancery Building, mainly in the first, fifth and sixth floors.
He was asked by the defence lawyer regarding procurement manual documents, and he said he was not aware of any document and that the said document was given by parliament.
