In recent days or hours, the general public have been swimming on the message that states: “Sierra Leone security personnel (like the Sierra Leone and the Armed Forces) have scheduled for a one-day city (Freetown) cleaning exercise. The exercise is scheduled to take place on 17th January, 2024.”
Responding to the above social media message, the Office of the Directorate of Defence Public Relations and Information, Ministry of Defence has totally refuted the above message. 
The Directorate states: “The public is further informed that a social media post which indicated that the RSLAF and the OSDs have volunteered for a cleaning exercise especially around the Central Business District on Wednesday 17th January is fake and misleading…”
