Following their tragic event that led to the death of their Head Coach along the Bo Freetown highway, Ports Authority has appointed Mohamed Bangura (Ahuwa) as their New Interim Coach.
It could be recalled that Former Sierra Leone International defender and Ports Authority Head Coach Lamin Bangura Passed on during fatal Accident. Coach Lamin passed away at the Rokupa Hospital in Freetown after the fatal accident along the Bo Highway.
Ports Authority Football Club that also known as the Water Front Boys, had confirmed the appointment of Mohamed Bangura, also known as Ahuwa, as their new interim head coach for the remaining season.
Bangura, a former captain of Ports Authority, would now take charge and would lead the Water Front Boys in their upcoming matches in the second round of the Leone Rock Premier League, as well as in the FA Cup semi-finals scheduled for April 19, as confirmed by the Sierra Leone Football Association.
Wishing the best of luck to former Ports Authority center-back-turned-interim coach, Mohamed Bangura, as he takes on this new role in the club.
Moreover, the team are back on the pitch after their difficult moment but this time with renewed determination and commitment in the pitch.
After the incident Supporters and media personnel were in attendance to witness the team’s first training session. The team’s spirit was high and the players showed great discipline and focus. However, several key players are still absent and are expected to join the squad in the coming days. Their training continues in the subsequent days at the same venue and the team is looking forward to getting back to competitive action as soon as possible.
Port Authority are currently in the 12th position after 18 games played with 22 points so far. They have won 5 draw 7 and lost 6.
