The role of students in the development of a nation is more vital than what we think; they have the energy and the ability to develop the country.
The future of any country is laid on the students; a good student is a good citizen. Students are the backbone of any nation.
Students are the root of development in the country, students play a very vital and big role in the development of a nation or country, Students who learn today will work for the future of the nation.
Development is an event continuing a new style by modifying the situation, for instance, the Society for International and Local Development defines development as a process that creates growth, progress positive change in physical, economic environmental, social, and demographic components.
From that point, you can therefore deduce that development is an improvement in the economic and social situation.
One of the key factors of students is that they have all that is taken to contribute to the betterment of the country by supporting the government of the day, participating in all policies, and inviting certain government officials into different dialogues with them by telling how they should do for the nation to move forward. For instance, the hardship in the country Sierra Leone to be precise students should able to create self-employment for themselves not only depend on the government.
Moving forward students should also help the nation by teaching the people about their rights and responsibilities in the country by doing so individuals will know what to do and what not to do as a citizen, but if we leave everything in the hands of authority or government they majority citizens will suffer which will reduce the development of the nation.
The other vital point here is as a student it’s your responsibility to move to different places to settle the disputes among the people so that unity will be among themselves you all know that unity brings development while dispute brings haters and destruction of places. For instance, in the just-concluded general election wherein after the announcement of the results the main opposition party decided not to take part in the ruling government, so as students you should be able to organize a conference by bringing the two political parties so that they will come together to make peace and harmony and they will join hand together for the betterment of the nation.
As students what are we doing to make sure that we exercise the Constitution in the land by so doing the declaration shall be at work because the framers of this Constitution had good reason for bringing it first.
Students can work with social organizations and work as social persons. They can help the law by informing them about the drugs addicted people, they should send drug-addicted people to the hospitals, police, and organizations working for that. With all these solutions we can make our country a clean developed nation, because students are energetic strong, perceptive and creative the task of nation development is much dependent on their natural every nation expect a lot from its young people or students. Therefore they should realize the needs of their country and act accordingly.
A nation without students can be a threat to the national development of a country. A country is dependent on students for development, but why are students vital for national development? Because students have ideas that can translate into dreams; they have new energy to experience new things they have time to build things for national development.
Students can be able to put effort for years and learn from the outcomes that they get and eventually contribute to national development.
Another sensitive role for students is that by Creating Innovation in a country we have been aware that students are brilliant in studies and they know how innovation works and that enables them to make innovation.
And by putting effort over the years they can create a successful innovative product that is the product which helps in national development for such student innovators, we call young entrepreneurs.
These products help to recognize globally the potential of a country that eventually drives investments in that country. And that investment directly helps the nation’s development, for instance, entrepreneurs who have creative ideas to build a great product and because of that one product can develop a nation. One thing to keep in mind is that often there are more upcoming students with innovative ideas than other people, so the role of students in national development is that they make innovations for a country.
However creating moments for the development of the nation, this role might be for new people but students have played this many. In a country, if there were elected, members are not working for development in a region or a country where students gather together to prevent this happening and force leaders to take action to promote development in a nation.
Morlai Karim Kargbo, a final year student at the University of Makeni said as a student what he thinks his colleagues do as a student is to bring everyone on board in respective of the tribe or region because the reason is that the country is divided into two different parties while it should not be like that as a country. Because if we bring everyone to the table as students we will be able to educate them because not everyone is educated Tell them that dividing this country because of tribe and colour will not bring development in this country when we all come together with one mind that development will shine everywhere in the nation. So am using now this media platform to encourage every student in this nation that we have a lot to do for the betterment of this country.
Fatmata Sesay, a student who described the way and manner which students do for the development of the nation, is by contributing the area of good health in the country. Health issues is become so alarming in our nation, we have students that are experts in health, so let they come on board them to provide quality health service in the nation so that by providing it people will not leave the country and go to another country for their health problem, that so bring investment in the country she said.
She continued by encouraging students to open more health centers or hospitals in the country.
Melvin M. Kargbo, who is also a student said that to develop students have to volunteer for local community service projects, such as cleaning up parks, helping at food banks, or mentoring underprivileged children. Later continue by saying that those small acts can make a big difference in the nation’s well-being and quality of life, improving education for better advocating for educational resources such as textbooks, technology, and teacher training it can also bring programs that support literacy education and skills development he said.
