Sierra Leoneans international skipper and Los Angeles FC player, Kei Ansu Kamara, has made history and stamped his name in the Major League Soccer (MLS) history by surpassing Landon Donovan to become the second-highest goal-scorer in the league’s history.
It could be recalled that, Kei Kamara, scored his 145th regular-season goal in the MLS and tight with Landon Donovan for second-most goal scorer in Major League Soccer (MLS) History.
Kei Kamara equalizing goal last week help his team to secure a point and most importantly made him to be in same goal with Landon Donovan’s of 145 career MLS goals.
Kai signed as a free agent in late March, the 39-year-old Sierra Leonean international has been a household name in the MLS and he continued making Sierra Leone proud in the international stage.
“Forget the record,” Kamara remarked. “It was just getting the goal to get back into it so we don’t lose the game so we can keep our streak going.”
He is enjoying an interesting career playing in the MLS, and has had some beautiful goal scoring memories with over 11 football clubs since signing his first professional contract with Columbus Crew in 2006.
Kei remarkable achievement came during a match where Kamara’s goal-scoring prowess was on full display, contributing to his team’s victory.
Kamara’s 33rd-minute, record-breaking strike came in LAFC 6-2 win over San Jose Earthquake on Saturday the 22 June 2023.
His journey in MLS has been nothing short of extraordinary, featuring stints with a record number of teams and consistently finding the back of the net with his skillful play.
