The President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ), Ahmed Sahid Nasralla, departed Sierra Leone yesterday to attend the Continental Conference βAmplifying African Narratives in Climate Justice: Empowering Journalists to Advance Africaβs Just Transition Realisationβ taking place in Abidjan, Cote dβ Ivoire from the 4-5 September 2024.
The conference, organized by the Federation of African Journalists (FAJ) in partnership with Monidaal FNV and Oxfam, aims to foster a more accurate and constructive portrayal of climate issues, highlighting innovative solutions or realizing just transition measures in Africa. The Conference will also create a platform for knowledge exchange and learning on climate justice, and advance storytelling and reporting skills to help shift the narrative from disaster to opportunity and resilience.
The SLAJ President is scheduled to speak on βStrategies for Engaging Policymakers and Promoting Climate Justice with Emphasis on Just Transitionβ alongside Ms Solange Ayanone from Rwanda).
