The Ombudsman of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Tejan Ahmed Israel Jah Esq., today paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed Yongawo and the staff of the Sierra Leone Embassy in Moscow, Russian Federation.
Ombudsman Jah is in Moscow at the invitation of the Human Rights Commissioners of the Russian Federation to attend the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference titled *”Problems of Human Rights Protection: Exchange of Best Practices of Ombudsmen,”* which will be held in a hybrid format on October 10, 2024. The theme of the conference is *”Topical Issues of Human Rights Protection in Health Care.”
The event is expected to be attended by ombudsmen from various countries, human rights commissioners from the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, representatives of international organizations, government authorities of the Russian Federation, academics, scholars and members of the scientific community, and human rights organizations.
The Ombudsman was impressed by the architecture of the Sierra Leone Embassy in Moscow and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Ambassador Yongawo for the warm reception he received during his visit.
Ambassador Yongawo and Ombudsman Jah share a longstanding friendship and discussed issues related to the bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Russia since the Ambassador’s appointment by His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio.
The visit was marked with a friendly lunch.
