Mohamed Buya Fofanah a forty-nine years old military officer and Idrissa Conteh a forty-six years old military officer on Thursday, 10 October, 2024, made another appearance for the continuation of their trial before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on two count charges to wit Store breaking and larceny contrary to section 26 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916 and Receiving stolen goods contrary to section 33 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on 16th July 2024 at the Sierra Leone Roads Authority SLRA compound Kirma Port loko Road Lungi Kafu Bullom Chiefdom Port Loko District the North west region in Freetown break and entered into the store at the Sierra Leone Roads Authority compound and stole therein six solar batteries, thirty four solar panels all to the total value of Seventy-Nine Thousand Leones (79,000) property of the Sierra Leone Roads Authority.
Count two further stated that the second accused person on the same date and place did receive two solar panels all to the total value of Two Thousand Leones (Le2, 000) from Mohamed Boya Fofanah knowing same to have been stolen.
When the charges was read and explained to the accused persons No plea was taken for them based on the weight of the said matter.
The prosecutor Detective Police Constable Thoronka K. K. applied for bench warrant for the second accused person who was absent in court and sought for a short adjournment date because his witness is absent.
However, Magistrate Bangura granted the application as the case been adjourned to the 14th October, 2024, for further proceedings.
