Freetown, Sierra Leone, Sahr Mohamed Dabundeh a twenty-one years old, Michael Aaron Vamboi, a twenty-one years old businessman and Alimamy Carew a thirty-five years old businessman have on Wednesday, 30 October, 2024, made their final appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 on three counts charges to wit conspiracy, larceny dwelling house and receiving stolen goods.
According to the particulars of offence on the 17 September 2024 at No. 16 Frazer Street, Cole Farm Off Wilkinson Road the Western Area in Freetown conspired together and with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit larceny dwelling house
Count two revealed that on the same date and place the 1st and 2nd accused persons with intent to steal entered the dwelling house of Mr Billy and stole therein one 12000 Air conditioner outlet AC units valued Fourteen Thousand Leones (Le14, 000) property of the said Mr Billy, whilst in custody of Santigie Koroma.
Count three further stated that the same date and place the third accused person did receive one 12000 Air conditioner outlet AC unit valued Fourteen Thousand Leones (Le14, 000) property of the said Mr Billy whilst in custody of Santigie Koroma.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons the first and second pleaded not guilty whilst the third accused pleaded guilty.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sorie Conteh led in prosecution number one Santigie Koroma a car dealer he recognized the first accused as the landlord of his boss Billy he recall on the 17 September 2024 he was at Syke Street something transfer between himself and the accused person the witness said the auntie of the first accused called and asked him to go to her house and alleged that the first accused had stolen her air conditioner the witness said upon his arrival at home and the instruction from the first accused person auntie he asked one A. Boy who told him that he was searching for the first accused but couldn’t see him the A. Boy took him to one man he could identify if seen who told them that the first accused took the air conditioner to him for sale but he did not buy them when the first accused was later arrested he made reports to the police at Congo Cross Police Station the following day the first accused took the police to the second accused and identified him as the person whom he sold the air conditioner to the second accused person also led them to bay and identified the third accused person as the person he sold the air conditioner to the witness said he later made statement to the police
The accused persons were not legally represented and they cross examined the witness.
Meanwhile, magistrate Bangura sentenced the third accused to two years imprisonment because he did not waste the court time and refused bail to the first and second accused persons and them sent to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
However, the case was adjourned to the 5th of November, 2024, for further hearings.
