The Deputy Speaker of the Sixth Parliament of the Second Republic of Sierra Leone, Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh during a sitting in the Well on Monday, November 4, 2024, has reiterated the unjustified charges on customers by Orange Sierra Leone (OSL), noting that the network has been cheating customers.
According to Hon. Tawa despite inviting to say the company to Parliament, they are still treating citizens unfairly. He noted that the reduction by OSL does not reflect the service they provide customers with and therefore urged the Six Man Committee he recently setup to look into the issues and advise accordingly.
The Deputy Speaker re-echoed the unwavering commitment of the people’s representatives to ensure that the ordinary citizens enjoy and benefit from services they laid for.
“I realised that yesterday, OSL reduced the tariff by one percent 1% meaning they have been extorting our people,” he underscored while encouraging the six man committee to look into it and advise the House. He furthered that the network company have been charging for Orange Mifi Cola 75NLe for 3.5Mps and now they charge 70NLe for 2.5Mps emphasising that it is still not enough considering the economic challenges in the African country.
