In a significant show of support for youth empowerment, Dr Ibrahim Bangura has donated NLe50, 000 to the National Youth and Young Adult Fellowship of the National Limba Pentecostal Mission. The donation is aimed at supporting the establishment of an ultra-modern tailor shop, a key project launched during the Fellowship’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.
The celebratory event, which marked five decades of youth engagement and development under the auspices of the National Limba Pentecostal Mission, also served as the official unveiling of the tailor shop initiative. The project is designed to equip young people with practical skills in tailoring, thereby fostering economic independence and community impact.
Speaking on behalf of Dr. Bangura, Hon. Al-Sankoh-Conteh delivered a heartfelt message emphasizing the importance of youth leadership and self-empowerment, commending the National Limba Pentecostal Mission for reaching such a historic milestone and for its commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.
“Dr. Bangura deeply appreciates the achievements of this Fellowship,” said Hon. Al-Sankoh-Conteh. “He believes that the future of our society depends on how well we prepare our young people today. This donation is not just about funds—it is a symbol of belief in your potential.”
Hon. Al-Sankoh-Conteh further encouraged the youth to lead by example in their communities, urging them to channel their energy and talents into productive ventures, highlighting that the tailor shop as a stepping stone towards broader societal transformation.
“You have the strength, the vision, and the skills to create change. Use them,” he said. “Dr. Bangura believes that if we empower young people, we empower the entire nation.”
The SLE50, 000 donation is expected to significantly boost the development of the tailor shop, which will serve as both a training centre and a small business enterprise. The initiative will not only offer skill-building opportunities but also create jobs and income-generating avenues for young people in the Fellowship and beyond.
The National Youth and Young Adult Fellowship was established 50 years ago with the aim of supporting spiritual growth, personal development, and community engagement among young people. Over the years, it has grown into a dynamic platform for leadership development within the Limba Pentecostal community and across Sierra Leone.
Leaders of the Fellowship expressed their profound gratitude to Dr. Bangura for his generous support and vision. They noted that the donation comes at a critical time, as young people continue to face economic challenges and limited access to skills training.
“We are grateful for this meaningful contribution,” said one of the Fellowship’s coordinators. “This tailor shop will transform lives. It will teach our young people valuable skills and help them become financially independent.”
The anniversary event closed with prayers, music, and renewed commitments from both Church leaders and the youth to continue building a brighter future through faith, service, and skill development.
Dr. Ibrahim Bangura’s donation marks not only a financial contribution but also a powerful statement on the role of collective responsibility in nation-building. It underscores the growing recognition that empowering the youth is fundamental to achieving sustainable development and lasting change.
