UBA- Sierra Leone has renewed its partnership with award-winning music star, Drizilik, as the bank’s Brand Ambassador for another year, strengthening their joint efforts to promote youth financial inclusion across the country.
The renewed collaboration reaffirms Drizilik’s role as the face of UBA’s innovative products, particularly “Leo the Chat Banker” and the “NexGen Account,” which are designed to make banking easier, more accessible, and more responsive to Sierra Leone’s vibrant youth population.
Announcing the extension, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of UBA Sierra Leone, Mohamed Alhajie Samoura, described the partnership as a vital bridge between the bank and the youth community. “This renewal is a commitment to do even more through music, movement, and meaningful engagement, as Drizilik’s influence continues to resonate with the youths,” he said.
For his part, Drizilik expressed excitement about continuing the partnership, highlighting the impact of UBA’s youth-focused digital products. “Leo and NexGen represent the future of banking, more so in cultivating the habit of savings among young people,” he stated. “I am proud to continue this journey with UBA Sierra Leone, because it is about creating opportunities and building stronger financial habits.”
UBA’s Leo Chatbot, which Drizilik continues to promote, has become a leading example of digital innovation in the Sierra Leonean banking space. Available on WhatsApp (+23279919919), Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Apple Messages, and Google Business Chat, Leo allows customers to conduct a wide range of transactions such as transferring money, paying bills, checking account balances, and accessing other essential banking services—all through a simple chat interface.
By leveraging platforms young people are already using daily, UBA- Sierra Leone is making financial services more interactive, intuitive, and tailored to the lifestyles of digital-savvy youths.
Alongside Leo, the NexGen Account remains a cornerstone of UBA’s drive for youth inclusion. The product is specifically targeted at pupils in senior secondary school, students in tertiary institutions, and youth corps members aged 18 to 25.
With the NexGen Account, young people gain access to modern banking solutions that fit their aspirations, enabling them to save, plan, and manage their money effectively. The bank sees this product as not only a financial service but also an educational tool to instill long-term habits of savings and investment.
UBA- Sierra Leone has consistently positioned itself as a leader in digital banking, not just within Sierra Leone but across the African continent. Through innovations like Leo and NexGen, the bank is committed to providing secure, youth-friendly financial services that empower the next generation.
The renewed partnership with Drizilik is a strategic move that taps into his strong connection with Sierra Leone’s young population. As one of the country’s most influential music stars, Drizilik brings energy, creativity, and authenticity to the campaign, making him a natural fit for UBA’s mission.
In combining the bank’s expertise with Drizilik’s cultural impact, the partnership aims to break down barriers to financial inclusion, encourage responsible savings, and inspire confidence among youths to embrace banking as part of their daily lives.
With this renewed collaboration, UBA- Sierra Leone has made it clear that its commitment to youth empowerment goes beyond banking; it is about shaping a future where young people have the tools, knowledge, and platforms to thrive.
