Standing before that unsurpassed Tonkolili crowd, Dr. Bangura spoke with the composure of a man who was ready for moments like this. He honoured Tonkolili’s historical loyalty: “Ten for ten, all for all.”
He honoured its electoral courage—especially in 2023, when the district stood unshaken despite disturbances elsewhere. He also honoured its contribution to Sierra Leone’s progress and to the APC’s legacy.
But more strategically, he spoke the heart of the people that Tonkolili deserves more, much more, after everything it has given. He therefore acknowledged the serious possibilities for the district which are worthy of attention and pursuit.
Then he made a gentle, powerful appeal:
“Give me what Tonkolili has always given to the APC—a solid, united, resounding delegates support—and I will give Tonkolili more than it has ever received.”
