“Lawyers are important advocates that help us through the most challenging moments of our lives. Sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what to say when you want to express how much you appreciate your legal counsel’s efforts in handling your case”, these are the exact words of one Mohamed Bangura, a litigant expressing appreciation to lawyer M.A. Kamara after helping him winning a matter he took to court for redress.

Bangura was before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Ross Road Court No 1 seeking redress on a Criminal lawsuit filed against him by his former employer who alleged that the former defrauded him.

Bangura was charged to court after police investigation for preliminary hearings on seven count charges of conspiracy to commit felony to with obtaining money by fraud and other related offenses. The matter which has been defended by defence counsel M. A. Kamara pose a tough challenge on the prosecuting side, living them with no option but to make legal objections which ended up overruled by the Bench.

Defence counsel M. A. Kamara when defending referred to certain authorities in the Criminal Procedure Act of 1965, shifting the case of their client from what the police alleged.

According to Lawyer M. A. Kamara, what the complainant narrated on oath is totally different from what all three factual witnesses brought by the prosecuting said in evidence.

He said for the prosecution to succeed in what they are putting to the court, evidence led must corroborated.

At the end of the prosecution’s case, defence counsel M. A. Kamara made heavy weather on the inconsistency of the witnesses. He further argued that the prosecution has failed to adduce sufficient evidence against him client on the alleged crime he was arraigned in court for.

After delving into the preliminaries and the argument on both sides, the presiding magistrate ruled that the prosecution has failed to prove their case beyond reasonable doubt and discharge the accused accordingly.

Matching out of the court with smile, the accused Mohamed Bangura appreciated his lawyer for the hard work and dedication in representing him.

Bangura further stated that the sharp legal mind and compassionate heart have made all the difference.
