In a bold move to promote academic excellence and youth empowerment in Sierra Leone, A Call To Business (ACTB) Bank, the nation’s leading microfinance institution, has proudly rewarded the top three graduating students of the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology (EBKUST) from a total of 1,823 graduates.

The landmark initiative took place during the 7th Congregation Ceremony for the conferment of degrees, diplomas, and certificates, held at the Prof. E.J.J. Momoh Pavilion, marking a historic first in Sierra Leone’s higher education landscape. ACTB Bank became the first financial institution in the country to introduce such a reward scheme at a university graduation, with EBK University as its pioneering beneficiary.

Representing the Chief Executive Officer, David Kamara, ACTB Bank’s Marketing Manager, Rockslyn Alwyn Findlay, described the occasion as a defining moment for education in Sierra Leone. He emphasized that ACTB Bank is committed to recognizing excellence, rewarding hard work, and investing in the nation’s future leaders.

Lamin Brima Conteh, B.Sc. Social Work, Makeni Campus GPA of 4.87

Isata Amara Sillah, B.Ed. Home Sciences, Port Loko Campus GPA of 4.78

Each outstanding graduate received a ceremonial cheque of NLe 5,000, symbolizing ACTB Bank’s firm belief in rewarding academic excellence and empowering young professionals.

Reaffirming the bank’s vision, Mr. Findlay stated that ACTB Bank’s support for education marks the beginning of a new era in national development, noting that the bank is not only providing financial services but also shaping futures and transforming lives. He assured students, parents, and stakeholders that ACTB Bank remains at the forefront of youth empowerment and educational advancement, driven by its motto of “Empowering the Future Now.”

The presentation of the ceremonial cheques was led by Mrs. Isatu Bangura, ACTB Bank’s Business Development Manager, on behalf of the bank’s management and staff, with the presence of other ACTB Bank officials further underscoring the institution’s strong commitment to education and national progress.
