Africell Group has launched Africell Business, a new enterprise brand designed to provide advanced connectivity, digital solutions, and tailored services for corporate institutions and small and medium enterprises in Sierra Leone.

The event took place at The Leads Hotel in Aberdeen, Freetown, bringing together senior government officials, private sector leaders, corporate clients, and development partners.

Africell Chief Executive Officer Shadi Gerjawi described Africell Business as a strategic shift from standard telecom services to customized enterprise solutions. He said the initiative involves restructuring internal operations, investing in specialized corporate teams, improving service quality, and deploying secure digital platforms.

The CEO outlined key focus areas including cloud hosting, data management, satellite monitoring, and integrated digital payment services, emphasizing that small and medium enterprises remain central to Africell’s business growth strategy.

Benjamin Okoro, Africell Group Head of Corporate Business, said Africell Business is structured to strengthen corporate relationships through service digitization and responsive client engagement. He introduced the Africell Business Client Portal for corporate account management and unveiled Africell Business Heritage, a platform recognizing indigenous enterprises for innovation and job creation. He named three SMEs honored at the launch for their contribution to local industry.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Information and Civic Education Chernoh Bah said Africell’s investment in local talent, media innovation, and community engagement has positioned the company as a reliable partner in Sierra Leone’s development. He noted that Africell Business will improve enterprise access to digital services, particularly for small and medium businesses critical to economic growth.

Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation Salima Bah, in ger statement, said Africell Business represents a transition from providing connectivity to enabling digital transformation across sectors. She disclosed that significant national investment in digital infrastructure has established strong network coverage and created a foundation for enterprise digital expansion. She called for continued collaboration to bring more startups and SMEs into the digital economy.

In his keynote address, Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh said the launch aligns with the government’s National Development Plan and its vision to transform Sierra Leone into a green and inclusive middle-income country by 2039. He stated that Africell’s investments in 5G, fiber connectivity, and enterprise solutions are strengthening national competitiveness and digital inclusion. He added that Africell Business enhances public private partnership in expanding equitable access to digital services.

The event included raffle draws in which some lucky invited guests won smartphones, WiFi routers, and a Samsung S26 as the star prize.

Africell also announced a promotional campaign offering FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets to business customers who sign up for, activate, or renew Africell Business services under 12-month contracts, with five weekly draws and two grand prize winners.

Africell Business is expected to expand enterprise digital solutions, corporate connectivity, and SME support services as part of Africell Group’s long-term strategy to deepen Sierra Leone’s digital economy.
