Africell Sierra Leone, through its charitable wing, the Africell Impact Foundation, has once again shown its commitment to helping vulnerable children by supporting the 12th Street Child Marathon.
This annual event, held in Freetown, drew in hundreds of runners and supporters from both near and far. Its goal was to raise awareness and gather funds for the education and well-being of street-connected children throughout the country.
The Africell Impact Foundation has been a steadfast partner of the marathon, and this year’s involvement only strengthens its standing as a leader in corporate social responsibility.
“We take great pride in supporting this amazing cause year after year,” the Foundation shared in a statement. “Joining our fellow citizens in walking and running for a brighter future reflects our belief in empowering communities and changing lives.”
Africell staff, along with team members from its mobile money service, Afrimoney, showed up in full force, participating in various race categories like the 5K, 10K, and full marathon. Dressed in Africell-branded attire, employees not only ran for the cause but also helped create a lively, community-focused atmosphere.
Marathon organizers praised Africell’s ongoing support, calling the company a crucial partner in furthering the event’s mission. “The Africell Impact Foundation has been a cornerstone of support, helping us transform this marathon into a nationwide movement for change,” one organizer remarked.
The event wrapped up with heartfelt stories and moments of togetherness, showcasing the collective effort to build brighter futures for Sierra Leone’s most vulnerable children.
