Africell SL, AYV to Construct US$5M Entertainment Centre

As part of their efforts to improve the entertainment industry in the country, the leading mobile phone company in Sierra Leone Africell in collaboration with the African Young Voices (AYV) is presently constructing a Five million United States Dollar ultra-modern entertainment complex in Freetown.

Both Shadi Gerjawi and Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr. made an on the spot visit to various sites of the proposed construction on Saturday August 29th 2020, to get first hand assessment on the progress made.

Africell’s Chief Executive Officer Shadi Gerjawi was particularly interested in making sure that all Covid-19 safety measures are met to ensure a conducive and healthy environment.

Commenting on the project, CEO of AYV, Anthony Navo Jr. said they are making the investment for generation yet unborn. He said this is the first time and the first country in the sub-region to have such an entertainment complex worth five million United States dollars.

He lauded Africell for what he described as huge collaboration with his company, adding that they want participants for the second phase of Housemates Salone a reality TV Show to live in peace and without interference from any quarter. He said after the Housemate event, they will formally launch the complex and would invite international celebrities and media to join them.

In his contribution, CEO of Africell, Shadi Gerjawi said they have been visiting the construction site every weekend to not only assess the state of work but to also ensure that the whole project becomes a reality. He said any two partners that work on something; they are bound to get the best out of it. He described the relationship between Africell and AYV as unique; adding that they are doubling their effort to make sure the whole thing becomes a success.

Shadi disclosed that his institution has been in partnership with AYV for years which he noted is part of their journey to make the media grow.

He said his company is determined to build the complex that will house reality shows, adding that for the past couple of years they have been organizing TV and reality shows and that they are now preparing to host the second edition of Housemate Salone.

Shadi pointed out that they did a blue print, adding that every housemate has done something for their lives. He emphasized that Housemate 2 will be a platform for several of the participants to change their lives
