Africell Sierra Leone telecommunication company has last Friday 14 July 2023 certified twenty-nine – 29 youths who has over the years championed the country’s social media after a two-month intensive training in Digital Marketing skill, at an official certification ceremony hosted in the boardroom of Africell-SL’s headquarters, Wilberforce, Freetown.
Participants include bloggers, Tictalkers and members of the Sierra Leone Promoters’ Union (SLPU).
Masters of Ceremony and Event Manager, Nancy. L. Turay called the certification ceremony of Africell’s Impact Foundation Digital Marketing training course as historic.
She added Africell SL continues and will remain exceptional with regards the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility, irrespective of the facts that Africell SL is operating a business.
With digital communication as a new world order, set of young Sierra Leoneans have improved their lives through the training in Digital Marketing skills aimed at improving their lives and communities.
She disclosed that the trainees were well equipped with the necessary gadgets that enabled fully explored the digital market.
Chief Cooperate Affairs Director, Joe Abass Bangura vividly reflected what used to be the four Ps. Bangura noted that prior to the emergence of digitalization and the internet, the four Ps, were price, place, promotion and people which were very much essential in business.
With the emergence of digitalization and internet, digital marketing drives the agenda and the ability to communicate, he said.
He disclosed that forty (40) participants enrolled into the programme with thirty-two (32) enlisted while twenty-nine (29) sail through the intense training.
“The project is a practically adopted and apply proven of all content,” disclosed Bangura.
He continued the Africell SL Impact Foundation creates’ new enrolments for skill promotions and professional pathways for many to explore empowerment opportunities in the areas of digital marketing and internet communications.
He encouraged beneficiaries to take advantage of the digital space and griped digital market seriously, by ways of designing digital market proposals for possible funding to companies.
Head of Digital Marketing, Africell SL, Kamanda Koroma, welcomed all to what he described as a successful completion of the Africell SL Impact Foundation’s Digital Marketing Training Course.
He said that over the past two months, the company through its Africell Impact Foundation’s Digital Marketing Training Course empowered individuals with essential Digital Marketing skills, which he noted cannot be unconnected with the reason why the media was present to witness the fruition of collective efforts.
In a modern age, the social media plays a vital role in the emerging market, he observes, and continued that participants were given remarkable opportunities to leverage the powers of digital platforms, improve their business models and enhance their professional approaches to social media.
Speaking on the aim of the training, Kamanda Koroma informed all that each participant was equipped with the necessary tools to thrive in a dynamic world of Digital Marketing.
By bringing the digital and physical worlds, Koroma added that Africell SL Impact Foundation ensured that everyone accessed the opportunities provided.
To the participants, Kamanda Koroma entreated them to bear in minds that the power they hold to inspire, and effect change in their lives and communities as the embark on their respective digital journey.
He also described the moment as huge achievement that strongly reaffirms Africell SL’s shared commitments to empowerment and giant strive for excellent.
Beneficiary, Africell SL Impact Foundation’s Digital Marketing Training course, Adel C. Jusu in her note of appreciation on behalf of Group One, profusely registered his appreciations to Africell SL for organizing Digital Marketing programme for youth.
“I count it all joyful to have been enlisted in such as specialized training course,” she said, and commended their tutors and other key actors during the course for their individual roles in ensuring that they were practically able to demonstrate what they were taught.
Head of Marcoms, John Konteh, said it’s quite a long journey that he said ended.
He noted the Digital Marketing Training is not about Africell but what beneficiaries of the training are able to make from the said training.
Announcing surprised Digital Marketing partnership, Konteh informed that Africell SL has consented to award a yearlong contract to fifteen members of the Sierra Leone Promoters’ Union (SLPU).
He continued that the current partnership package is much more lucrative than the previous which he said will surely put smile on the faces of the 15 members of the SLPU.
He pleaded with Group 2, to be patient as Africell SL is considering them any time opportunities show up.
Samuel Tholley, in his appreciation note for and on behalf of Group Two, also thanked all speakers and alluded to the facts that the Africell SL’s Impact Foundation has really enabled them to have something to show for as bloggers, Titalkers and promoters as initially they were doing it without anything to show for.
Tholley stated that: “With a certificate as evidence of proof that we can boldly disclose to any that we are trained and quality digital marketers.”
Tholley thanked Africell SL for always remembering them in most of the goodies that Africell always avail itself to its numerous customers.
