One of the leading telecommunication companies, Africell Sierra Leone has on Friday 28 April, 2023 launched the “Africell SL TROSS EDSA, any day, any time” at the company’s headquarters, Wilberforce on Freetown.
The said partnership between the telecommunication company and the Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) is indisputably the first ever “learn me” service on mobile money platform in Sierra Leone, which is geared towards ensuring that subscribers are catered for.
Managing Director, Mobile Financial Service, Martison Obeng-Agyei said the reason for the introduction of the “learn me” service is for subscribers to enjoy electronic independence in power.
He noted the service creates the opportunity for subscribers to “TROSS” EDSA at any time they needed, hence a life line of electricity at all times.
To access such service, he said, one should dial the number symbol, 161 stars, select EDSA and TROSS EDSA.
He added that the service mandated subscribers to pay back in 24 hours.
Failing to pay with the stipulated period, a five percent interest will be charge on the amount credited to the said subscriber.
With regards illegibility criteria, a subscriber must have joined the Mobile Financial Platform for thirty days only.
Chief Financial Officer, EDSA noted that the motive for the introduction of such “learn me service” is geared towards increasing subscribers’ space in term of connectivity and accessibility.
He expressed appreciation to Africell SL for the partnership regardless of its short duration.
