Africell Sierra Leone (Africell SL) has last Tuesday 2nd May 2023 handed over the sum of Fifty Thousand New Leones (NLe50,00) to Di Hut winner, at a presentation hosted at the company’s headquarters in Freetown. The lucky winner, Bayan R. Decker is a Senior Secondary School One – SS1 pupil of the Royal Becklyn Academy in Freetown. Speaking at the presentation of the grand accolade, Head of Media, Africell SL, John Konteh, disclosed that several encouragements were made for subscribers to form part of the show. Konteh said lots of subscribers won different cash prizes, including ten lucky winners in the Western Area and so many across the country won grand prizes including Fifty Thousand New Leones winners.
He encouraged Africell SL subscribers and customers, who were unable to win, to continue to stand with the company and always participate in subsequent Africell SL promotions. Konteh added that the programme was meant to engage people who fasted and those who did not fast during the month of Ramadan.
Konteh informed that Africell SL has paid tax deducted from the amounts the customers won, adding that the company has helped Government with revenue mobilization. “As a company, we are committed to developing people and it is our responsibility to encourage our esteem customers,” assured.
Africell SL Head of Events and Sponsorship, Nancy L. Toure warmly congratulated winners of the Africell SL Ramadan Di Hut Show. Toure said during the show ten subscribers won 5 mifi, 5 won NLe 50,000 with Bayan R. Decker who emerged as the last lucky winner of the promotion, who bagged the sum of NLe 50,000.
The mother of the winner, Mrs. Decker, explained how the winning came about. She said it was not the first time her family has won an Africell SL promotion, adding that her husband won some years ago.
“Most times his grandmother buys airtime for him which he normally uses to get information and entertainment,” she was making reference to the winner adding that the family was overwhelmed with joy as the father and the rest of the family graced the presentation.
The winner, Bryan R. Decker, expressed his profound delight but decided to be calm in order to get things right. He spoke about his ambition of becoming a lawyer noting that when one decides to do things his own one can succeed than when people force someone to do something or to make things to happen. “I used my data to study and watch movies,” the winner stated with pride.
