Afrimoney has formalized a partnership with SUDU Salone, enabling seamless donations through Afrimoney to support the SUDU Salone’s efforts for displaced children and orphans. The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at Africell Headquarters, Wilberforce Village- Freetown.
Speaking at the event, SUDU Salone’s Deputy Country Lead, Emmanuel Tamba Momoh, highlighted the organization’s mission to provide shelter and essential services for vulnerable children. “SUDU, derived from the Fullah language, means ‘home’ or ‘shelter.’ Since 2018, we’ve collaborated with institutions such as Don Bosco and the Ministry of Social Welfare to ensure displaced children and orphans are placed in foster homes,” Momoh explained.
He also emphasized the purpose of the partnership, which aligns with the launch of the One Leone Campaign. “This campaign encourages people to donate as little as one new Leone via Afrimoney to support our initiatives. The partnership with Afrimoney will help streamline this process and amplify our reach,” Momoh added.
Alfred Joseph Lavalie, Afrimoney’s Corporate Sales Manager, reaffirmed Afrimoney’s commitment to empower grassroots organizations like SUDU Salone. “At Afrimoney, we believe in supporting smaller organizations to realize their full potential. Donations can be made by dialing *161#, selecting option 1, and following the prompts to contribute to SUDU Salone,” Lavalie explained.
The ceremony concluded with Afrimoney staff making personal donations to kick-start the initiative.
This partnership marks a significant step toward fostering community-driven support for some of Sierra Leone’s most vulnerable populations.
