In a letter dated 7th of May 2025, the legal representative of Messima Auctioneering has filed a letter of complaint to the Chairman Parliamentary Committee over breach of contract.
According to the solicitor of the Messima Auctioneering and other auctioneers did apply for the position as an auctioneer on Friday 21st of February 2025 in respect of an advert made by government of Sierra Leone Via the Ministry of Finance that was advertised by the Exclusive newspaper.
The letter went on that, their clients Messima Auctioneering were deprived of the opportunity given by their notice at the Exclusive newspaper under the qualification and experience and requirements.
According to the letter they submitted photocopies of their credentials. They also presented valid bond guarantee and originals of the said documents.
In the letter the solicitors stressed that their clients suffered loss and it was due to their noncompliance to the said agreements has resulted in to a frustration as one of the rubrics of breach in any contractual transaction by them not fulfilling their own part of the bargain.
They expressed further frustration that other applicants who did not meet requirement have been awarded the contract which is against the laws of employment.
The letter concluded that they hope they shall not have recourse to legal actions.
