Joshua Juwana a Masoner made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.3 in Freetown on a count of fraudulent conversion contrary to Section (20) (1) (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on Thursday 23 May 2023, at Sugar Loaf, Regent in the Western Area in Freetown, fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit certain property that is to say forty two length half 1/2 inches iron rods, nine cartoon 1/4 floor tiles, twenty bags of imported cement, eight cartoon kitchen tiles, five cartoon bathroom tiles, a physical sum of Two Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Leones for shovels, nails and head pans, five thousand to pay the man who were working the retaining wall, Two Thousand Leones for a trip sand, Five Hundred Leones for the men who were working with the P.V.C celling all to the total value of twenty five thousand and Fifteen Leones (25,015) entrusted to him by Gloria Agnes Louibie for the purpose of safe keeping
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person no plea taken.
Assistant Superintendent of police Berber Musa informed the Bench that his witness is absent and applied for a short adjournment date.
Meanwhile Magistrate Bangura refused bail and sent the accused person to the Male Correctional Center in Freetown matter adjourned to the 12 July 2023.
