The credentials presentation was attended by high-level government officials and cabinet ministers, including the Honourable Timothy Kabba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Honourable David M. Sengeh, the Chief Minister.

President Bio warmly received Ambassador Jankowski and his delegation, emphasizing the importance of the EU-Sierra Leone partnership. He welcomed the new Ambassador and acknowledged the EU’s steadfast support for Sierra Leone over the years, reiterating his commitment to continued cooperation with the EU. He assured the new Ambassador of his full support during his tenure.

Both leaders reaffirmed the strong and enduring partnership between the European Union and Sierra Leone, pledging further cooperation in key areas such as sustainable development, agriculture, education, trade, democracy, and human rights.

Ambassador Jankowski underscored the EU’s commitment to deepening its relationship with Sierra Leone, noting that EU activities span supporting democratic reforms, fostering a green and inclusive economy, improving the business climate, and creating opportunities for youth employment. He also highlighted Sierra Leone’s significant role as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, with both parties dedicated to promoting a rules-based international order.

This event marks another milestone in the long-standing partnership between the EU and Sierra Leone, reinforcing their mutual commitment to sustainable development and shared goals for the future.
