On May 29, the Joint Job fair of Chinese Enterprises in Sierra Leone was successfully held. The job fair was co-sponsored by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Sierra Leone, Sierra Leone Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Confucius Institute at the University of Sierra Leone, and hosted by Leone Rock Metal Group. H.E. Ambassador Wang Qing, Rt. Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas, Speaker of the Parliament of Republic of Sierra Leone, Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, Minister of Youth Affairs and Minister of Technical and Higher Education attended the ceremony on invitation.
Ambassador Wang Qing introduced the relevant measures taken by the Chinese government to promote high-quality and full employment, and expressed the hope that under the guidance of the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, the two sides will deepen economic and trade cooperation, expand vocational training and promote Chinese language teaching, to create more working opportunities for local people and better contribute to the economic and social development of the Sierra Leone.
Rt. Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas, Speaker of the Parliament, and other guests highly appreciated the strong support provided by Chinese enterprises for promoting Sierra Leone’s economic development and employment growth, and expressed the hope to cooperate with China to gain more fruitful results of practical cooperation in various fields, and bring more benefits to people of the two sides.
The job fair will provide more than 2000 working opportunities. And the atmosphere was very lively and friendly. The event was widely reported by local media.
