In a bid to improve the facilities at the Trade Centre Football Field and a way to add more value in Sierra Leone Football, the Chairman of East End Lions together with his executive has on Monday 26 February 2024 started the construction of the artificial turf at Trade Centre Football Field.
According to the club website, the construction work was expected to be completed within the next two weeks in the country, adding that it’s these significant development owes its success to the unwavering dedication and leadership of their chairman Anthony Navo, Jr.. Under his guidance, the project had gained momentum and was set to transform the existing field into a state-of-the-art facility in the country.It could be recalled that a 40-ft container filled with artificial turf, floodlights, and other equipment had landed safely in early February for the development of the Trade Centre field, and it signalling the start of operations at the Trade Centre field.
Moreover, they club noted that the equipment included in the container would significantly extend the playing hours at the Trade Centre field, allowing for evening and even night training sessions and they believed that it would undoubtedly give the club a competitive edge as they strive to reach new heights in their performance.
It continued that the introduction of artificial turf promises numerous benefits at the Trade Centre Field. With its durable composition and low-maintenance nature, the new surface would provide a consistent playing field regardless of weather conditions. This timely upgrade would enhance performance standards and ensure a safer environment for their players.
It furthered that the Chairman Anthony Navo’s vision and commitment to fostering progress within the Trade Centre Field have undoubtedly propelled this project forward. The anticipation is palpable as their players eagerly await the unveiling of the revitalized Trade Centre Field, ushering in a new era of sport and recreation.
