Following the demolition of the Fourah Bay College Masjid on campus due to the inadequate capacity, the Fourah Bay College Muslim Jamaat had announced that the construction of the FBC Masjid is currently in progress and the Executive of the FBC Muslims Jamaat has called on the public to plea for assistance in constructing a new mosque on campus.

Recently, the Executive informed the Muslims Students and by extension the Muslim community that all worships and prayers (Salah) would now be offered at the FBC Temporal Mosque located behind block 35 (Block H), towards Kamanda Farm Male/Female hostels down Wisdom Tree until the new Mosque is constructed by the will of Allah.

The absence of a mosque has created a significant void in the spiritual and communal life of the Muslim community at FBC. In response, the FBC Muslim Jamaat aims to erect a state-of-the-art mosque that can accommodate the growing number of Muslim students while building unity, peace, and spiritual growth within the broader college community.

We Jamaat is appealing to the generosity of individuals, organizations, and businesses, the Jamaat seeks financial contributions to realise this vital project. Donations can be made through various channels, including Orange Money, Afri Money, and UBA Bank.

The initiative aligns with a profound tradition, as exemplified by the words of the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him ﷺ, who said Allah promised divine rewards to those who support the construction of mosques.

Even the smallest donations can play a pivotal role in achieving this noble objective, ensuring that future generations of Muslim students at FBC have a dedicated space for worship and Islamic engagements.

The fundraising ceremony and the turning of the sod, marking the beginning of the mosque’s construction, are scheduled for the 19th of May 2024. This event signifies the Jamaat’s commitment to building a legacy of faith, unity, and service at FBC.

For further details or to make a donation, interested parties can contact the FBC Muslim Jamaat via phone or access account information provided in the appeal.
