Sierra Leone Under-17 has moved to the semi-final stage of the WAFU Zone A ongoing competitions in Nouakchott, Mauritania, confirmed Director, Abdoulaye Cisse.He said the U17 qualification came after the disqualification of Liberia after some of their players had failed the mandatory Magnetic Resonance Imaging tests conducted recently.
Sierra Leone who now top Group A, following their 3-0 victory over host Mauritania will play the runner-up of Group B in the first semi-finals today Friday 7th October.
The winners of the two semi-finals matches qualify automatically to the CAF U17 tournament to be hosted in Algeria 2023.
