The North East Regional Commander, Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Aiah Edward Samadia has on Wednesday 20 March 2024 informed that police have arrested George Adams in nexus with the November 26 2023 attempted coup. AIG Samadia made the disclosure whiles addressing a news conference at the Sierra Leone Police headquarters at George Street in Freetown.

He said George Adams, the caretaker of the house where he was hiding, Saidu Kargbo and the landlord the Deputy Vice Chancellor of EBKUST, Dr Moses Kargbo were arrested at the DVC’s resident in Makeni.

They have been relocated to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department in Freetown for further investigations.

According AIG Samadia George Adams was traced over his alleged involvement in the November 26 2023 attempted coup in which he-Adams is a key suspect, but he was on the run until his arrest anmd detention in custody. He informed that police traced Adams all the way to Makeni and he was captured at the resident of the DVC of EBKUST.

He explained that George Adams was hiding under the PVC roof but he consumed weight and he fell down with the PVC and he was arrested along with the DVC EBKUST and the caretaker, who all under investigations at the CID headquarters in Freetown helping the police with further investigations.

He also informed the media those 32 youths from the lorry parks are in detentions for their involvements in taking part in kush. “We have engaged various communities, villages in Makeni on kush,” he said.

In a related development, the Regional Commander, South Assistant Inspector General of Police South, AIG Brima Kanneh said; “kush has become a groundnut in Sierra Leone”.

AIG Kanneh said recently SLP arrested five cartons of tramadol along with the suspect. He added that one Sufian Sesay who transits always from Guinea to London was arrested with huge quantity of kush.

AIG Kanneh concluded that SLP also arrested a vehicle registration number AAV 24/7 was arrested with quantities of Cannabis Sativa, adding that raids were conducted in Moyamba wherein two Police personnel we’re arrested in kush ghettos.
