Augustus Kargbo bids farewell to Cesena. The Sierra Leonean forward is set to move to England to join Blackburn Rovers.
Thursday’s training session was almost certainly his last in Romagna, meaning he will not be part of the squad traveling to Catanzaro. Now, Cesena will have to find a replacement by midnight on Monday, February 3.
The Leone Stars man is optimistic about his move, as Blackburn Rovers are reportedly offering him a four-and-a-half-year contract. However, Augustus Kargbo’s representatives are pushing for a shorter deal, preferring a two- to three-year agreement. The official announcement is expected after his medical examination.
Currently sitting 7th in the English Championship, the club is on the verge of signing one of Sierra Leone’s brightest football prospects. The former Crotone FC player is expected to arrive in the UK in the coming hours, with final details of the deal being ironed out.
Following the goodbye Augustus made to Cesena, his new team, Blackburn Rovers, was officially introduced to the club’s supporters at Ewood Park.
The Sierra Leone international proudly displayed his new Blackburn jersey, much to the excitement of the home crowd.
