As the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) prepares for its pivotal presidential election on August 2, 2025, four candidates have thrown their hats into the ring for the SLFA presidency. Among them, Mr. Babadi Kamara stands out as a beacon of integrity, vision, and effective leadership.

With a proven track record of transparency, development, and commitment to football, Kamara brings a breath of fresh air to the SLFA presidential contest. Unlike the outgoing SLFA president, Thomas Daddy Brima, who was cited for misusing funds for personal gains, Kamara has never been implicated in any corruption scandal, receive a criminal notice from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), or been asked to refund misappropriated funds.

Mr. Babadi Kamara’s spotless record speaks volumes about his accountability, ethics, and trustworthiness. His contribution to Sierra Leone’s football development predates his presidential ambitions. He has long been a champion of grassroots initiatives, infrastructure growth, and fair treatment for football stakeholders.

Kamara’s vision is bold yet practical: to end the cycle of corruption and underperformance, and usher in a new era of inclusive growth, proper stakeholder engagement, and infrastructural progress. He wants to change the narrative of broken leadership that has plagued SLFA for years.

Under the current administration, key campaign promises such as the construction of mini-stadiums in Tonkolili, Kambia, and Karene Districts remain unfulfilled. Player fees are unacceptably low, and coaches are underpaid. Kamara envisions a future where every district in Sierra Leone has at least one functional mini-stadium, and where players, coaches, and football administrators are treated with respect, compensation, and opportunities they deserve.

More than just a candidate, Babadi Kamara represents a movement for reform. He exemplifies professionalism, good governance, and sustainable development. With strong local and international connections, a deep understanding of football, and a genuine passion for uplifting the sport, he is uniquely equipped to lead SLFA into a brighter, more transparent future.

In contrast, some other candidates seem more focused on personal ambition and public recognition than on meaningful transformation. Kamara’s commitment to reform and his track record of integrity make him the standout candidate in this election.

As SLFA delegates prepare to cast their votes, they are being urged to vote with wisdom and purpose. This election is not just about selecting a leader, it’s about choosing a future. Babadi Kamara is more than a candidate: he is a hope, a reformer, and a game-changer.

With Kamara at the helm, SLFA can look forward to a new era of transparency, accountability, and development. His leadership would be a breath of fresh air for Sierra Leone’s football community, and his vision for the sport’s future is both inspiring and achievable.

As the election approaches, it’s clear that Babadi Kamara is the candidate best positioned to lead SLFA into a brighter future. His commitment to reform, integrity, and development makes him the ideal choice for Sierra Leone’s football community.
