The Newly erected roundabout was constructed by SALCOST with funds from the government of Sierra Leone.

Whilst commissioning the roundabout, His Worship the Mayor of Bo City, Kobba Musa, described the event as a significant milestone in the city’s journey toward growth and beautification in the country. He underscored that in cities across the globe, roundabouts are more than just traffic management solutions; they are symbols of progress, unity, and the ever-turning wheel of community life. “The New London Roundabout is no exception. Its transformation is a testament to our collective vision for a more beautiful, organized, and vibrant Bo city,” posited Mayor Musa. He added that the beautification of this roundabout goes beyond aesthetics as it represents the commitment of the people to enhancing the quality of life for all who live, work, and pass through the city. The new design, adorned with lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and beautiful decorations by Africell SL according the Mayor, does not only add to the visual appeal but also reflects “our dedication to environmental sustainability and urban development.”

I would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Africell for their generous support and unwavering commitment to this project. Your investment in our city’s future is invaluable and demonstrates your dedication to social responsibility and community development. Through your partnership, we have created a space that will be cherished by generations to come. He furthered that the New London roundabout now stands as a beacon of what can be achieved when local government and private sector entities unite for a common cause. Mayor Kobba Musa urged executive members of the Sierra Leone motor drivers’ Union to join the council and Africell in watching over the roundabout and the work done there, noting that the area is quickly noticed by visitors as they enter the city, thus the reason it ought to be kept tidy at all times. His Worship the Mayor gratified Africell SL through its regional manager, noting that this partnership between the two entities is worth continuing. “We are like Oliver Twist; the more you give us something, the more we hunger and thirst for more. So please do not forget the people of this city as they need your interventions,” Mayor Kobba Musa pleaded with Africell SL.

The Southern Regional Manager of Africell SL, Khalil Fawaz expressed that his company has an open mind to work with and for the people of Bo City. “This is a testament to our commitment to Bo people. When I came here, the Council met my company that they are passionate about beautifying the city among many things and so together with them, we shall ensure a beautiful Bo City like we have started,” stated the Africell Southern Region boss. He assured the people of Bo City that “Sierra Leone’s biggest and best mobile network, Africell SL, is committed to undertaking more coloration social responsibility for the good and wellbeing of the people of Bo City.”
