Following the termination of the services of nine high ranking individuals in the Office of the President as Advisers and Special sectoral Advisers to the President, government under the Sierra Leone People Party (SLPP) has left many who were lucky to be appointed to ministries, departments and agencies during in the last five years worried with regard their political fates in the next cabinet and other positions in the current governance.
The said worries continue to dribble among SLPP who were hopeful that their jobs are fragile considering the amount of people from the National Grand Coalition (NGC) and Coalition for Change (C4C) political parties who constituted President Bio’s strategic alliance formed ahead of the just concluded multitier elections.
A Public Notice released on Wednesday 5th July 2023 called for the termination through a letter addressed to the Accountant General, Ministry of Finance, Dr. Julius Sandy from the Secretary to the Preside6nt for Dr. Kona Celicilla Koroma, Special Adviser to the President, Raymond De-Souza George, Senior Presidential Adviser & Ambassador at Large for Heritage and Culture, Ambassador Dr. Umaru Bundu Wurri, Special Adviser to His Excellency the President, Ambassador, Dr. Brima Patrick Kapura presidential Adviser on Political Affairs, John O. Benjamin, Senior Adviser to His Excellency to the president, Dr. Patrick Kagbeni Muanu, Senior Presidential Adviser and Head of Strategic Communication, Dr. John E. Tamba Chairman officer of the President infrastructure Initiative, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Mohamed M. Keita, President Adviser on National Security and Mr. Augustine Boss Fallay, Presidential Adviser to take the back.
The Public Notice however failed to indicate the reason for the termination of their services and urged the Minister of Finance to give directives to the Accountant General to update the payroll accordingly.
