The management of Black Leo has strongly refuted recent social media reports claiming that a bench warrant was issued against Sierra Leone’s entertainment ambassador, Kao Denero, describing the allegations as false, baseless, and malicious.

In a press statement, the management clarified that there is no truth to the rumours that have been circulating on various online platforms, alleging that the hip-hop star and cultural ambassador was wanted by the courts. They accused certain bloggers of spreading fabricated stories without credible evidence, thereby misleading the public and damaging reputations.

According to Black Leo, Ambassador Kao Denero remains a peaceful, law-abiding citizen who has consistently demonstrated respect for the laws of Sierra Leone. They pointed to his recent return to the country, where he was reportedly received VIP treatment and given a diplomatic escort to his residence — a gesture the management said underscores the respect and recognition he enjoys at both official and public levels.

Addressing the ongoing court matter, Black Leo PRO who is commonly called Eco Bank, confirmed that on August 11th, Kao Denero attended a court session as required and returned home without incident. At no time, they stressed, was a bench warrant issued against him, nor was any bail fine imposed. The statement clarified that the case in question has simply been adjourned until August 18th for further proceedings.

“We are deeply concerned about the deliberate spread of misinformation regarding his alleged arrest,” the statement read. “We urge all bloggers, media outlets, and social media commentators to refrain from misleading the public. It is crucial to ensure that any information shared is factually accurate. False reporting not only harms reputations but also misleads the public and undermines trust in the media.”

The management expressed particular disappointment over the speed at which unverified stories were shared online, warning that such behaviour erodes journalistic integrity and fuels unnecessary controversy. They called on media practitioners and content creators to uphold ethical standards by verifying facts before publication.

To Kao Denero’s loyal fans and supporters, Black Leo expressed heartfelt gratitude for their steadfast backing during what they described as a period of unfounded attacks on his character. “We sincerely thank you for standing firmly by the King of the Continent,” the statement continued. “Your unwavering love and encouragement inspire him to represent Sierra Leone with pride and excellence on the global stage.”

The statement further emphasised that Kao Denero remains one of Africa’s leading music figures and a proud representative of Sierra Leone in the entertainment industry. Known for his contributions to African hip-hop and his role in promoting Sierra Leonean culture internationally, Kao Denero continues to command a large and dedicated following both at home and abroad.

As the August 18th court date approaches, Black Leo reiterated their confidence in the legal process and assured the public that there is no cause for alarm. They urged supporters to disregard false information and to rely only on verified sources for updates regarding the ambassador.

“Ambassador Kao Denero remains, and will always be, a leading force in African music and a proud son of Sierra Leone,” the statement concluded. “He is committed to using his platform to uplift his country and to showcase its talent to the world.”
