Let us all arise and give deafening applause to the inimitable Bo Rangers, who made Sierra Leone proud in Conakry yesterday , when they eliminated Guinea’s big boys HOROYA FC from the West Africa clubs competition presently going on in the Guinea capital. That was huge . Well done, Bo. Keep making Sierra Leone proud.
The match ended in a bruising 1-1 draw and the brilliant and never intimidated Bo boys went on to beat the Guinea Champions in the penalty shootout 4-3 , leaving Conakry in total gloom , as Mighty Blackpool and Real Republicans did to them in the 1970s and 80s.
Bo had also made our country proud last week when the Confederation of African Football ( CAF ) and FIFA approved the ultramodern Bo Southern Arena for the oncoming CAF Champions League clash between Rangers and Liberia ‘s champions LISR . At a time when CAF and FIFA are disqualifying stadia all over Africa for not meeting international standards to host continental matches, this is another big achievement for Bo.
With the strides being made in Bo, there is a light in the tunnel that Sierra Leone football is about to go places.
Since Bo Rangers will be hoisting the green, white and blue flag of Sierra Leone , I call on all Sierra Leone to come out in full in two weeks time to cheer Bo to victory against the tricky and accomplished Liberian champions in the first leg of the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League.
A big cheer too for our worthy brother , Babadi Kamara, who is the pivot behind the good news coming from Bo.
